Editorial Policy
Glowarie is written by one person, Aran. Here's how I approach each article.
Research
- I rely on published research, dermatology resources and official regulatory information (such as Health Canada) wherever possible.
- I often read Korean-language product information and labels directly, since full details aren't always translated.
- When evidence is limited, mostly lab-based, or comes only from manufacturers, I say so.
- I avoid words like "miracle," "cure" or "permanent results."
Writing
- Plain language for everyday readers.
- A focus on principles and ingredients, not pushing particular products.
- Safety notes where they matter: patch testing, allergies, and when to see a professional.
Reviews and personal experience
I only describe personal experience when it's genuine. I don't publish reviews of products I haven't used, and I don't accept free products in exchange for coverage.
AI tools
I sometimes use AI tools to help with research, outlining and editing. Every article is checked, edited and approved by me before it's published, and I'm responsible for what appears on this site.
Updates and corrections
Skincare research changes. I review articles from time to time and show an "Updated" date when I make significant changes. If you spot an error, please let me know.
